My Story.

Running wasn’t my first choice; it was my escape from the rough and tumble of school sports. As a small kid, team sports meant getting knocked around by the bigger kids. Running became my sanctuary and my sport of choice, helping me avoid the bullies.

After those school years, running fell by the wayside, as sport often does as we become busy adults. Years passed without me lacing up my running shoes.

That first run was a humbling experience. I couldn’t even make it around the block without feeling exhausted and in pain. But I knew I had to persist. My journey from that painful start to achieving my twelve-year goal of becoming a Melbourne Marathon Spartan, despite suffering a stroke along the way, has been transformative. Now, well into my sixties, I enjoy great health, fitness, and vitality.
